Hassle-Free Foreign Exchange Facilities for Medical Treatment & Studies Abroad

Soneri Bank offers you to learn more about the remittance guidelines for Travel purposes issued by State Bank of Pakistan with a view to meeting the foreign exchange needs of medical treatment and studies abroad for yourself and your loved ones.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE FACILITIES FOR STUDIES ABROAD:

Customers desirous of studying in accredited and recognized foreign institutions/universities may request any authorized branch of Soneri Bank Limited to remit foreign exchange to educational institutions abroad up to US$ 70,000/- or equivalent in other foreign currencies for application/processing charges, tuition fee, living expenses etc. as set out below:

  1. Remittances related to application/processing charges for admission in the foreign educational institutions by submitting documentary evidence.
  2. Remittances of tuition fee, living expenses and other dues (health, insurance, union, sports, library fees etc.) upon getting admission in a foreign educational institution by submitting the following documents:
  • Application Form (Appendix V-82) duly filled in by the student/parent/guardian.
  • Copies of CNIC/Form ‘B’ of the student and CNIC of the parent/guardian.
  • Copy of passport of the student.
  • Letter of admission from foreign educational institution.
  • Letter/Cost Sheet from foreign educational institution showing break-up of expenses.
  • Any other document, if deemed necessary.
  • Remittances of Dues, including Tuition Fee, which are payable to the foreign educational institution directly to their account and not remitted/released to the student.
  1. Living or miscellaneous expenses as indicated by the respective foreign institution/university, if not being remitted to the institution, can, however, be sent to the student himself/herself.
  2. Request for cash foreign exchange equivalent to US$ 5,000/- for meeting the initial expenses related to boarding/lodging and/or other requirements.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE FACILITIES FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT ABROAD:

  1. Customers (resident Pakistanis) on account of medical treatment, may request any authorized branch of Soneri Bank Limited to remit foreign exchange up to US$ 50,000/- or equivalent in other foreign currencies directly to the account of concerned reputable foreign Hospital by submitting the following documents:
  • Appendix V-72 duly filled in by the patient/next of kin/sponsor.
  • Invoice/estimate of the foreign hospital.
  • A ‘self-declaration’ from the patient, his/her next of kin or from sponsor declaring amount of foreign exchange essentially required for treatment abroad.
  • Any other document, if deemed necessary.
  1. Customer may request for cash foreign exchange equivalent to US$ 5,000/- each to the patient and one attendant.
