Pledge for Kindness

Like every year, this year too Soneri Bank continued its Pledge for Kindness Campaign which embodies the spirit of giving in the holy month of Ramadan. We partnered with multiple NGOs, such as Layton Rahmatullah Benevolent Trust (LRBT), Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH), and Make a Wish Foundation, to create a difference in the lives of those in need. To initiate the campaign, Soneri Bank integrated a pledge counter on its official website where anyone visiting the site could mark their pledge by clicking on the counter. For every pledge received, Soneri Bank donated Rs. 10/- to each NGO. Through this campaign, we were able to generate 59,331 pledges and Soneri Bank donated PKR 593,310/- to the respective NGOs to bring a smile to the faces of many. The campaign was advertised on our social media pages and several emailers were sent out to raise awareness for the good cause.

Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust

LRBT, through its purpose-built and appropriately-equipped hospitals, provides comprehensive eye treatments for the visually impaired. The Trust aims to provide those in need with quality eye treatment facilities and help them lead a normal life. Soneri Bank, through its Pledge for Kindness campaign, supported the organization to bring light to the lives of many underprivileged people.

The Aga Khan University Hospital

The Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi, established in 1985, was founded by the Aga Khan. The hospital provides a broad range of secondary and tertiary care, including diagnosis of disease and team management of patient care. Soneri Bank contributed to the organization’s cause through its digital campaign #PledgeForKindness, whereby generous funds were donated for welfare.

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital

The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust has established a number of centers all over Pakistan that help in the awareness, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer in Pakistan. Soneri Bank supported them through its digital campaign #PledgeForKindness where it generously donated to the organization and helped raise awareness about cancer.

Make-A-Wish Foundation

Make-A-Wish Pakistan is an affiliate member of Make-A-Wish Foundation Int’l, dedicated to granting the most cherished wishes of critically ill children. Since its inception, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pakistan, has granted thousands of wishes of critically ill children, thereby enriching their lives with hope, strength, and joy. Soneri Bank’s Pledge for Kindness Campaign helped generate funds to sponsor and fulfil the wishes of many terminally ill children and bring a smile on their faces.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Soneri Bank donated generously to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital for the treatment of Breast Cancer patients as part of its Pinktober campaign, to prevent and fight Breast cancer in Pakistan. It also partnered with the hospital for an awareness session to spread awareness about the prevention, symptoms, and treatment of Breast Cancer in Pakistan.

Environmental awareness through email circulation

The Green Banking Office is circulating emails bank-wide with respect to the Green Banking Guidelines to educate the bank staff on environmental issues.

Green Advisory Services

We have incorporated details of the Green Banking Office and green advisory services on Soneri Bank’s official website, to create awareness amongst the visitors, of our going Green activities.

Green Business Facilitation

We have developed a Green Business Facilitation product, i.e., renewable energy financing. The tentative plan for the launch of this product is March end 2022.

Environmental Trainings

Green Banking Office has conducted trainings through HR Learning and Development to educate employees to apply an own-impact reduction in their workplace, keep emphasizing the customers to use more of digital tools, to discourage paper-based documents for the betterment of the environment.

Resource Consumption Targets

We have assigned resource consumption targets to one of our branches, under which electricity, water, fuel, and paper were covered. Furthermore, the Green Banking Office has prepared a Key Performance Indicators report for the branches, head offices, and regional offices for dissemination of the knowledge that is essential for the Bank’s staff to comply with the allocated targets.

Environmental Risk Rating (ERR)

The Environmental Risk Rating (ERR) Model has been deployed and implemented on CAPS. Credit approvals are being rated by the ERR Model, under which around 856 cases have been performed according to the Green Banking Guidelines.

The 4th Sindh Literature Festival was held at the Arts Council of Pakistan and was open for all. The festival continued for three days. The Citizens Foundation is a non-profit organisation that aims to bring a positive social change through education. It is one of Pakistan’s leading organisation in the field of education for the less privileged. The Foundation operates a network of 1,567 school units, educating 252,000 students throughout Pakistan. To support TCF’s cause of improving the literacy rate of Pakistan, Soneri Bank sponsored the fundraising event of Illmathon 2020 for the development of education and literacy.

Family Education Services Foundation (FESF)

Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF) a non-profit educational organisation which has been active in Pakistan since 1984. fundraising event for society’s prosperity.

Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre

MALC is a non-profit organisation serving the Leprosy, TB & Eye patients in Pakistan, which includes medical and surgical treatment, as well as the physical and social needs of deformed patients. Deserving cases are provided educational, vocational and socio-economic assistance
for their rehabilitation and integration into their respective communities. Soneri Bank participated in a fundraiser play organised by MALC, to help in providing patients with proper access to health facilities.

LRBT

LRBT is the largest provider of free eye care for the poor in the country and a safety net for the visually impaired population in Pakistan. In order to further endorse the efforts of the institute, Soneri Bank contributed its due share through its digital campaign #PledgeForKindness, whereby the funds were donated to LRBT.

Children First Society

Children First Society is a non-profit organisation working for the ailing children by providing free treatment, medical supplies, machines and equipment. Various initiatives of cleanliness and hygiene have also been taken for the betterment of their patients. The Children First Society’s child development services help children to achieve a healthy life to become healthy adults. Soneri Bank supported the cause by participating in their fundraiser event.

National Institute of Child Health (NICH) – OAKS

OAKS is the alumni association of Kinnaird College for Women. Both OAKS and NICH have a long standing relationship, in which funds have been raised for lifesaving medical equipment for the hospital, which include ventilators, incubators and special thalassemia testing machinery.

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre

The Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation – SIUT

The Indus Hospitals (TIHs)

The Indus Hospitals are tertiary care multidisciplinary hospitals and healthcare system in Pakistan. The unique feature of the hospital is that it is privately run, but offers services completely free of charge. It is the first ever paperless hospital established in Pakistan. Friends of Pink Ribbon Pakistan – United Against Breast Cancer

Pink Ribbon Pakistan – a project of Women’s Empowerment Group is a non-funded, self-sustained campaign, mostly supported by contributions through public philanthropy and driven by a large number of volunteers all over the country. The mission of Pink Ribbon Pakistan is to develop Pakistan’s first dedicated breast cancer hospital with state-of-the-art medical equipment, in order to fulfil the dire need of approximately 9.8 million women who are at a risk of developing breast cancer, in Pakistan. Soneri Bank pledged to this cause by contribution in the annual fundraiser event.

The conference was a professional forum to collate successful and diversified professional women leaders across the globe to impart and integrate their experiences at a local forum for an exchange of broader perspectives and learning.

Behbud Association Karachi

Behbud Association Karachi is a well-known NGO conducting the development programs in the areas of health, education, women empowerment and vocational trainings for many years. Soneri Bank supported their cause of serving humanity, by contributing in their Behbud Spring Fiesta.

Attock Sahara Foundation

Attock Sahara Foundation (ASF) welfare based non-profit organization by Pakistan Center of Philanthropy (PCP) serves the community since 1966. Its aim is to play a vital role in uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the surrounding communities through various welfare projects. Soneri Bank supported their mission by participating in their Annual Meena Bazaar event.

Karachi Women’s Swimming Association (KWSA)

KWSA is an organization working towards uplifting sports among women, specially swimming. KWSA hosted a swimming tournament in which Soneri Bank participated. Such events provide a platform for Pakistan’s women swimmers to compete at the national level, and hone their talents to participate in prestigious international swimming events.

Continuing with our support towards sports since many years, this year Soneri Bank not only sponsored an international event held in Pakistan but also few individual players.

International Squash Tournament

Defence Authority Creek Club (DACC) had organized International Squash Tournament after six years with the vision to promote a positive image of our country through Squash, a sport for which Pakistan is known to produce remarkable players.
